Artificial intelligence is becoming more useful when it fits naturally into everyday tasks. Instead of opening a separate AI chatbot, startup Acti wants users to access AI directly from the keyboard they already use every day.

The Singapore-based company has officially launched its AI-powered keyboard for both Android and iOS devices. The keyboard allows users to perform AI tasks while chatting, writing emails, browsing social media, or using productivity apps without leaving the current screen.

AI That Works Without App Switching

Most AI assistants require users to switch between different apps to ask questions or generate content. Acti aims to remove that extra step.

For example, if someone asks for a restaurant recommendation during a chat, the keyboard can instantly suggest nearby places. It can also provide live stock prices, translate messages, generate replies, or insert meeting links directly into conversations.

This creates a smoother experience by keeping AI inside the apps people already use.

Powered by Google’s Gemini AI Models

Acti uses Google’s Gemini AI models to deliver fast responses and multilingual support.

According to the company, Gemini was selected because it offers a strong balance of intelligence, speed, reliability, and cost efficiency for everyday AI tasks.

Create Custom AI Shortcuts with Skills

One of Acti’s standout features is called Skills.

Users can assign AI actions to specific keyboard keys. For example:

  • Translate messages instantly
  • Share meeting links with one tap
  • Generate quick replies
  • Perform custom workflows

The best part is that users don’t need coding knowledge. They simply describe what they want in plain language, and Acti automatically creates the shortcut.

During early testing, users created over 1,000 custom Skills in less than two weeks.

Privacy Comes First

Acti says privacy is one of its biggest priorities.

The keyboard follows a local-first approach, meaning personal information stays on the user’s device unless an AI feature specifically requires cloud processing.

The company also says it does not access or store private conversations unless users explicitly request an AI-powered action.

Startup Raises $5.3 Million

Alongside the product launch, Acti announced it has secured $5.3 million in seed funding, led by BITKRAFT Ventures.

The investment will help the company continue developing new AI features, expand its Skills marketplace, and improve the overall user experience.

Acti also plans to introduce premium subscription plans that offer access to more advanced AI models and higher usage limits.
