Samsung Electronics is expanding access to ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex for its employees, marking a major shift in the company’s AI strategy after previously restricting the use of generative AI tools due to security concerns.
The rollout will provide access to employees across Samsung Electronics in South Korea and Device eXperience (DX) teams worldwide. The company plans to use AI tools for software development, marketing, product design, manufacturing, data analysis, and everyday business operations.
ChatGPT Enterprise offers enterprise-grade security, access controls, and privacy features, allowing employees to use AI while meeting company security requirements. Meanwhile, OpenAI’s Codex platform will assist teams with coding, debugging, workflow automation, and software development tasks.
Samsung initially limited employee use of ChatGPT in 2023 following concerns about sensitive company data being shared with external AI platforms. The new deployment reflects growing confidence in enterprise AI solutions designed for secure workplace environments.
The move also strengthens Samsung’s partnership with OpenAI. The two companies have collaborated on AI infrastructure initiatives, enterprise services, and advanced memory solutions that support large-scale AI systems.
As businesses worldwide increasingly adopt AI tools to improve productivity and efficiency, Samsung’s company-wide deployment highlights the growing role of generative AI in modern workplaces.
