Spotify has officially launched Reserved by Spotify, a new feature designed to give dedicated music fans early access to concert tickets before they become available to the general public.

The feature is initially rolling out in the United States for Spotify Premium subscribers aged 18 and above. Eligible fans will receive exclusive access to purchase up to two concert tickets before public ticket sales begin.

The first artist to use the new system is Role Model, whose fans will receive notifications if they qualify for early ticket access. Spotify says eligibility is determined by factors such as listening habits, engagement, shares, and overall activity related to an artist.

The company also confirmed that simply looping songs continuously will not increase a user’s chances. Instead, Spotify uses multiple engagement signals to identify genuine superfans.

Currently, the feature works with Live Nation events and tickets sold through Ticketmaster, though Spotify plans to expand partnerships in the future.

The move comes as ticket scalping continues to be a major challenge across the music industry. By reserving tickets directly for verified fans, Spotify hopes to help artists connect with their most loyal listeners while reducing opportunities for automated ticket-buying bots.
