Google Launches $29 Pixel Tag to Compete With Apple AirTag

Google has introduced the Pixel Tag, a new $29 item tracker designed to help Android users find lost keys, bags and other valuable belongings.

The device was announced at Google’s Made by Google 2026 event alongside the new Pixel 11 smartphone lineup.

Pixel Tag Uses Google’s Find Hub Network

The Pixel Tag works with Google’s Find Hub network, which uses nearby Android devices to help locate lost items.

Users can connect the tracker to Find Hub on their Android phone and check its location when an item goes missing. Pixel Watch users can also locate and ring the Pixel Tag directly from their smartwatch.

The concept is similar to Apple’s AirTag and its Find My network.

Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband Support

The Pixel Tag uses Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband (UWB) connectivity to help with nearby and more precise location tracking.

A built-in speaker can also play a sound when the tracker is nearby, making it easier to find misplaced items.

Google has designed the tracker with a slimmer, elongated shape rather than the round design used by Apple’s AirTag.

The Pixel Tag measures about 1.1 inches wide and 0.2 inches thick, and weighs approximately 0.4 ounces with its battery.

Around One Year of Battery Life

The tracker uses a replaceable CR2032 coin-cell battery, which Google says can last for roughly a year.

The Pixel Tag also carries an IP67 rating, providing protection against dust and temporary water submersion.

Pixel Tag Price and Availability

Google will sell the Pixel Tag for $29 for a single tracker or $99 for a four-pack.

The device is scheduled to become available on November 11, 2026.
