Roblox has announced a new AI-powered feature called Build, making it easier than ever for users to create games directly from their smartphones.

The new feature allows players to describe a game idea using simple text prompts, and artificial intelligence automatically generates a playable game prototype within seconds. Users can then customize, improve, and share their creations with friends.

With this update, Roblox is aiming to make game development accessible to everyone—even those with no coding or game design experience.

How Roblox Build Works

Using the new Build feature is simple.

Users only need to type a short description of the game they want to create.

For example:

“Create a relaxing adventure game inside a magical forest.”

The AI then automatically generates:

  • A playable environment
  • Characters

Initially, access will be available to:

  • Users located in New Zealand
  • Players aged 9 and older with verified accounts

Users aged 16 years and above will also be able to publish their AI-generated games for players worldwide.

Roblox plans to offer both:

  • A free version
  • Premium paid options with additional capabilities

The Build feature is only one part of Roblox’s broader AI strategy.

The company is also developing:

Roblox Retires Video Calling Feature

Alongside the AI announcement, Roblox confirmed that it will discontinue Roblox Connect, the avatar-based video calling feature introduced in 2023.

The company appears to be shifting its focus toward AI-powered creativity and creator tools instead of social communication features.

Instead of spending months learning programming and game design, creators can now build playable experiences in minutes using natural language prompts.

For aspiring developers, this could significantly reduce the time and technical skills needed to bring ideas to life.

However, maintaining game quality will remain one of Roblox’s biggest challenges as AI-generated content becomes more common.
