Fleet management company Samsara has introduced a new tracking solution designed to improve shipment visibility and combat rising cargo theft across global supply chains.
The new product, called the Samsara Tracking Label, looks like a standard shipping label but contains a small battery and Bluetooth technology that can provide real-time location tracking during transit.

Unlike traditional tracking devices that can be bulky or expensive, the disposable label is designed for one-way shipments and critical cargo. It uses Samsara’s existing network of connected devices, including fleet cameras and sensors, to continuously update shipment locations.
The company says the tracking label can remain inactive for up to nine months before use and provide tracking for approximately 45 days once activated.
Beyond theft prevention, the technology aims to help businesses respond faster to shipping delays, route changes, and supply chain disruptions. Samsara believes better visibility can help logistics teams make proactive decisions instead of reacting after problems occur.
As cargo theft and supply chain risks continue to increase worldwide, solutions like smart tracking labels are becoming an important tool for businesses moving high-value goods.
